Throughout its long history, originally as a private residence then from 1812 as a hotel. Now the prestige Imperial Hotel Tramontano located in the centre of Sorrento, overlooking the Gulf of Naples, offer a refined and elegant style. The oldest wing dates back to the 16th century, and its architecture represents the most viewed image of Sorrento worldwide. It is now legend that the hotel was visited by Milton during one of his longer travel. From his terrace was composed by G. B. De Curtis, the world-famous song "Torna a Surriento”. The hotel also offer a quality Mediterranean cuisine with its delightful flavours and aromas, is under the care of Alfonso Iaccarino, a chef of international fame, patron of Don Alfonso 1890, one of the most renowned restaurants in the world.
